Ampelis Health welcomes Marquesa Campbell as our newest provider. Marquesa is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Marquesa welcomes new patients at Ampelis Health at Mindful Medical, located at 1525 E 6000 S, Suite 2, in South Ogden, Utah.
Marquesa demonstrates compassion and understanding in her practice, with a focus on serving under-represented and vulnerable populations in the community. She follows evidence-based guidelines, using her own experience, intuition, and personal observation to provide quality care that is tailored specifically for each patient’s individual needs.
Marquesa diagnoses and treats a variety of mental health conditions including ADHD, depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, insomnia, major depressive disorder, and other issues. She believes in the mind/body/soul connection and views all patients as a whole person, not just a series of parts. She is passionate about providing quality, compassionate, holistic and patient-centered care for her patients.
Marquesa’s particular areas of focus include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual), panic disorder and relationship stressors. She guides patients towards the most appropriate treatments for their situation, such as psychotherapeutic and naturopathic medication, ketamine therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and therapy/life coaching.
She graduated from Maryville University in St Louis in 2022. In her free time, you can find Marquesa out on a trail hiking, performing hot yoga, trying out new restaurants and spending time with her children.
What is a PMHNP?
A PMHNP, or psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who specializes in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions. A PMHNP is fully trained and able to diagnose and treat depression, major depressive disorder, anxiety, postpartum depression, OCD, PTSD, ADD/ADHD, and other mental health issues.
In Utah, a mental health nurse practitioner has full practice authority by state law, meaning they are able to evaluate and diagnose mental health issues, prescribe antidepressants or other medicine, and prescribe other mental health treatments, such as ketamine or TMS therapy.
The credential PMHNP-BC designates board certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. To achieve board certification, a candidate must meet eligibility requirements and pass a certification exam, demonstrating their competency in the specialty.
Ampelis Health welcomes Marquesa Campbell to our practice.
